We have an equally talented team of clerks and administration staff to ensure the high quality of service is maintained and that the expectations of our clients are realised.
Job description
We are currently looking for a Trainee Junior Clerk to join our busy clerking team.
The successful candidate will be bright, hardworking with excellent communication, customer service and IT skills. An ability to show initiative and work well under pressure are also required.
The role will involve providing administrative and additional support to the specialist barristers and clerks within the Civil, Criminal and Family teams as and when required.
The work undertaken at a barrister’s chambers is interesting and high paced so the ability to multi-task and communicate well is essential.
This is a busy and demanding role but an excellent opportunity to start a career in a unique area of the legal world. The role is permanent, full-time and office based.
Hours
37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30am - 6pm.
The core hours are 9am – 5:30pm with occasional shifts of 8:30am – 5pm or 9:30am-6pm, a rota is produced one month in advance.
Requirements
· Suitable candidates will be educated to A level standard or above
· They must show initiative and willingness to work in a pressured environment
· At least six months experience of clerical/administrative work or work involving customer service is essential.
· They must be well presented, with good communication skills and a tidy and organised approach to the working environment.
In return
Salary: starting salary of £20,800 to be reviewed on completion of probationary period.
Holiday: 25 Days Holiday plus bank holidays
Extra day of holiday for each completed year of service for the first 5 years
