Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking for a curious mind to support the team at Agile Rabbit with administration, grants applications, and communications.

The role is part time, working 24 hours a week for a fixed term duration of 1 year in the first instance – but we hope to extend. This is an interesting position for someone who is organised and efficient and has a passion for exploring ideas, possibly in a lateral or creative way.

It is a varied support role, so it is not expected that candidates will be experienced in all areas, but should be in some. As a consequence, a keenness to learn through training and self-directed research is necessary.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support to the directors with administration
  • Finding grants
  • Help to curate programming by contacting speakers and supporting them with excellent communication when they have enquiries.

Researching topics and speakers

  • Email marketing and updating website posts.
  • Approaching festivals and other appropriate organisations to research new locations for Agile Rabbit events
  • Increasing awareness of Agile Rabbit within the local, regional and national context

ABOUT US

Agile Rabbit is an educational charity that produces quirky events, radio programmes, podcasts, and other experiences, often in an interactive and creative way. We support people and organisations to communicate research and ideas, showing their relevance to lives and societies. With an informal tone, our events are inclusive and accessible, while still challenging audiences. We deliver our projects by collaborating with local artists, creatives, radio makers, and practitioners.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Exceptional communication when writing and speaking
  • Can write persuasively with good English
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work accurately and quickly
  • Strong IT skills, social media awareness and an aptitude for new approaches
  • Be able to act on own initiative, manage their own time and prioritise workloads

A person who understands the importance of public engagement and is interested in the topics covered by Agile Rabbit: science, culture, politics, and global affairs

Application is by letter and CV to contact@agile-rabbit.com, and you can ask questions at that address too. Closing date is 20 March and interviews will be in the Exeter area on 30 March.
