Allied Vehicles is the UK market leader in the manufacture and supply of wheelchair accessible transport solutions. Allied also operates Scotland’s largest independent Bodyshop and offers a range of garage services to insurance, commercial and private customers alike. The company has a nationwide reputation for ensuring quality, value and customer satisfaction and key to this success is its dedicated and committed workforce.
We are now recruiting for an Assistant Production Manager to join our Operations department. You will be responsible for helping to achieve the Company’s on time delivery by ensuring that vehicles are manufactures correctly, cost effectively and delivered on time, in accordance with customer build specification and quality requirements.
Main duties of the role are:
· Manage customer order/schedule requirements, pre-plan production and deploy a daily prioritised work schedule to the shop floor with appropriate time deadline targets and meet, monitor, and review workload schedule
· Manage and regularly review production progress against deadline targets to ensure on time delivery, adjust the production schedule as required and communicate any change to delivery date
· Manage production/quality processes, equipment being used, and the working environments to ensure they are conducive to producing a high-quality product/service
· Establish goals and objectives for self and team and implement accordingly to help support/improve job performance
· Carry out frequent daily meetings with management team to ensure full communication, understanding and transparency of real time targets/KPI’s and possible problems
· Motivate and empower team to achieve objectives/KPI’s and drive forward Company core values. Inspire team to incorporate solutions and improvements into their daily work
· Promote a culture of working safely and introduce initiatives to encourage this
To be effective in this role, you will have a proven work history at management level from an Engineering, Automotive or Manufacturing background. You will have a proven track record of achieving production output targets with quality and cost parameters, be a good communicator and people leader with experience of change management and have experience of cost savings in a high mix/low volume environment.
Hours of work are Monday – Wednesday 7am – 6pm & Thursday 7am – 5.30pm and the salary is £38-42k PA DOE.
