Intern, QA Engineer (12 months placement)

Position Overview If successful you will join the multidisciplinary Sheffield team which includes designers, developers and QA engineers creating the front-end user interface to BIM 360 Model Coordination, a cloud-based management solution for detecting and categorising problems within 3D architectural models. Model Coordination is a complex client-side application made possible through using the latest in web technology (React, Redux and webGL). We have a rapidly growing number of users so assuring that quality is maintained in each release is vital to retain customer satisfaction. We assure quality through a combination of automated End to End tests, Unit tests, a Continuous Integration pipeline and focused testing against requirements gathering. As a member of the team you will be creating software tools that assure the quality of BIM 360 Model Coordination. Responsibilities

• Create resilient and trustworthy automated test functionality, alongside maintaining existing tests using the Cypress JavaScript framework
• Design test cases and executing test procedures, documented within Jira
• Be involved in and contribute to the full development lifecycle, from design to customer release
• Be a core member of the team and partake in our agile development methodology
• Gain insight into modern front-end development within a global organization
• Contribute to our Jenkins continuous integration platform, which automatically assesses application code checks and runs tests on deployment

Requirements

• A full-time undergrad student in an accredited software development related course at the time of internship participation with a solid academic standing
• An open minded individual motivated through learning new concepts and ideas
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and an independent work ethic
• An understanding of software testing and quality assurance would be beneficial
