Your Impact
As aΒ Senior Mechanical Engineer, you take technical ownership of mechanical systems and assemblies β from early concept and architecture through prototyping, qualification, and production. You combine hands-on mechanical engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and technical leadership, actively shaping both our products and the way we engineer them.
What Youβll Do
- Own mechanical system and subsystem development across the full product lifecycle.
- Design durable mechanical solutions for fixed, portable, and mobile cUAS systems.
- Develop housings, structures, and mounting concepts with focus on thermal performance, weight, stiffness, and environmental robustness.
- Apply structural and thermal simulation (e.g. FEA, thermal analysis) to guide design decisions and validate concepts.
- Take a strong hands-on role in prototyping, testing, and iterative design improvements.
- Solve real-world hardware problems by identifying root causes and implementing practical, robust solutions.
- Work closely with electrical, RF, and systems engineers on mechanical-electrical integration.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners on DFM/DFA, material selection, surface treatments, and production processes.
- Support qualification activities including temperature, shock, vibration, and environmental testing.
- Participate in design reviews, contribute to engineering guidelines, and continuously improve mechanical design standards.
- Act as a technical mentor, sharing knowledge and experience within the engineering team.
What You Bring
- Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Several years of experience in mechanical design and system integration for complex hardware products.
- Strong background in mechanical design for harsh or regulated environments.
- Experience with structural and thermal simulation tools (e.g. SolidWorks Simulation, Ansys, or comparable).
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. SolidWorks or equivalent) and production-ready technical drawings.
- Strong hands-on skills and confidence working with workshop tools and prototypes.
- Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and design for production.
- Proven problem-solving mindset, comfortable debugging real hardware issues.
- Experience supporting knowledge sharing, reviews, or mentoring within an engineering team.
- Clear communicator who enjoys ownership, collaboration, and technical depth.

Work Location: This role is based out of our Kassel office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
