We believe that no-one should suffer from treatable conditions and we’ve proven that our digital support services can provide fast, effective, reliable and accessible care.

With Sleepstation we’ve got a science-backed, market leading, NHS-endorsed, digital sleep improvement programme that has helped many tens of thousands of people resolve their sleep problems for good.

Sleep coaches provide daily support and encouragement to service users via our secure and confidential messaging system. They help people to understand and implement effective strategies to improve their sleep. They work to understand the problems each person is experiencing so that they can help them to tailor advice to meet their needs and circumstances. They also keep in touch with users, monitoring their progress while they work their way through our online sleep improvement programme and checking in with them at regular intervals afterwards to help people get their sleep back on track and maintain good sleep over time.

As a trainee sleep coach, you’ll work alongside other sleep coaches providing personalised support to the people who use Sleepstation.

Sleep plays a vital role in good health and wellbeing throughout your life. We believe that no-one should have live with curable conditions, like insomnia and we are working to ensure that no-one is left to tackle these problems alone.

While a background in healthcare or support would be preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided. Our personalised support is what sets Sleepstation apart, and you’ll be directly making a difference in this role.
Responsibilities

  • Handling user queries and providing support to service users, via an online system
  • Reviewing information provided by services users (questionnaire responses etc.)
  • Providing information to users about sleep and wellbeing
  • Using your skills to empower service users to make the necessary changes to help them reach their sleep goals (following agreed protocols)
  • Reviewing user feedback and sharing this with the wider team in line with company processes
  • Proactively monitoring service user progress
  • Responding to questions and messages from service users
  • Identifying concerns and escalating where appropriate
  • Working within your competence to provide support and information and referring to others where needed
  • Other such reasonable duties within the general scope of the job title, at the direction of the Line Manager

After a successful training period you will have the opportunity to progress to the role of Sleep Coach, which comes with increased salary and additional responsibilities. Further progression opportunities are also available.
Requirements

  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work well as part of a team
  • A genuine passion to make a positive difference through your work
  • An empathetic approach
  • Strong IT skills (highly competent using/navigating online systems)
  • Excellent time management
  • Ability to remain calm if presented with complex problems
  • Flexibility in thinking - ability to maintain performance across varied tasks
  • Willingness to undertake additional learning to evolve in your role

Why join the Sleepstation team

We work with purpose

We value impact over activity. You won’t see us focus on the time spent on a task, we aren’t pre-occupied with being busy, we’re focused on being effective.

We’re improving lives

The positive change that we make to the lives of the individuals that we support is what drives us. We share credit and acknowledge the work of others in delivering our impact, when you experience this every day you’ll find it drives you too.

We stay balanced

We make time for the things and people we love. Workaholics aren't heroes here. We don’t expect you to spend your life at your desk. While we have our core hours, you’re free to pick the days you work. Most of the team enjoys a 4 day concentrated week and everyone enjoys a very generous holiday package. We’re remote-first but we also have an office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne where we meet to collaborate and socialise.

We care and we listen

We are positive. We don’t complain about what’s gone wrong, we work to put it right, together. We treat people equally and we value each other’s opinion. Be willing to challenge and be prepared to be challenged.

We put people first

We’ve created a workplace that we’re proud to work in; our people-first mentality is there to see in what we do and how we do it, every single day.

There are no “top dogs” here

We work together openly and honestly, with respect for others. We appreciate the individual and we invest in your wellbeing. We’ll celebrate with you through the highs and we support each other through the lows.

We’re here to share success

We’re only going to reach our goals through real team effort and we’re committed to rewarding input, loyalty and impact. We’ve already achieved a lot, but there’s so much more we could do together.
