Description
We are looking for a UK based, remote Temporary Senior Payroll Administrator to join our team.
Working in a team of 9 (Manager and 8 Payroll Administrators) and using IRIS Payrite Payroll Software, the department provides bureau payroll service to approximately 230 clients consisting of both schools and companies. On a monthly and weekly basis, the department produces around 12,000 payslips.
This is a temporary role which we anticipate will continue for approximately three months.
This position has an earning potential of up to £32.00 per hour depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of 25-30 clients across multiple pay deadlines processing c2000 employees in total.
Process all payrolls from start to finish:
- Starters, Leavers and Permanent data changes
- Process variable data from clients
- Manage multiple deadlines for variable data and manage the client throughout the pay cycle
- Audit and check payroll
- Report processing and sending to clients for sign off
- Send reports and payslips to clients
- Produce BACS payment schedule and forward to BACS officer
- Liaise with client and dealing with salary queries
- Completing complex monthly/annual pension returns
- Dealing with queries with pensions administrators / HM Revenue & Customs
- Processing forms P45/P46/P6/P9
- Processing and calculating statutory payments such as SMP, SSP etc.
- Ability to manually calculate pro-rata payments such as holiday pay, hourly/daily rates of pay etc.
- Monitoring multiple deadlines such as pensions, payrolls, HMRC etc.
- Working within current statutory legislation
- Signing off checklist, ensuring timely payroll processes within the department
- Ability to work within a team
- Ad hoc tasks as required
- Report writing within payroll software
- Assisting other team members to resolve PAYE/NIC queries
- Assisting other team members to resolve complex client queries
- Liaising directly with HMRC to resolve queries
- Providing backup support to the team in the absence of the payroll manager
- Preparation of BACS files
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You will have:
- Experience of running payrolls for a portfolio of clients
- An in depth understanding of statutory payroll legislation
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Able to manually calculate tax and national insurance
- Numerate and computer literate
- Able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
- IRIS Payrite Payroll Software experience
