Established in 2013 by Tom Grattan and Daniel Wallace, we've created successful brands and award-winning websites for national and international clients including Lancaster University, Royal Westmoreland Barbados, Locality, City of York Council, Silverdoor Apartments, and Mazuma mobile.

As we continue to win new work, we’re expanding the team with a web developer.

You'll have the opportunity to make a huge impact and work with a team of passionate professionals who are eager to build excellent digital experiences for our clients.

Here is what you can expect in terms of your daily tasks as a web developer at EXP:

  • Write client-side code for responsive websites, applying modern best practices
  • Build enterprise-level WordPress/CraftCMS websites
  • Leverage EXP’s custom content block system to deliver a flexible CMS to clients
  • Work with the rest of the EXP team to develop creative solutions that meet the needs and budget of the client

The ideal candidate will:

  • Understand project requirements and collaborate with our development/design team and stakeholders to deliver the perfect solution for our clients
  • Have excellent organisation and planning skills with the ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills for team projects, working with other developers to execute the design

Required skills:

  • Ability to translate designs into code with clean and scalable HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP
  • Experience developing web solutions for Content Management Systems
  • Experience with JavaScript libraries and frameworks
  • Ability to write scalable CSS
  • An understanding of layout aesthetics
  • An understanding of Git and version control
  • Strong attention to detail
  • General knowledge of UX and accessibility best practices
  • Usability best practices

Essential Info

  • This role is permanent full-time at 37.5 hours per week
  • This role is hybrid/remote, with the occasional contact day meeting at locations in the North West (typically Lancaster and Manchester)
  • Candidates must be based in the UK
  • Salary stated for mid/senior depending on experience.
