Great Bear is a leading 3rd party logistics business providing a wide range of ambient warehousing services, shared-user and dedicated transport solutions to a wide variety of customers alongside offering a flexible mix of added-value services to simplify supply chain. We operate over 7 million sq.ft. of warehousing space across 30+ locations in the UK. Our distribution network spans all corners of the country.
Our Wolverhampton site are now recruiting for a Control Room Operative on a full time basis.
Salary: £23589
Working hours: 4 on 4 off
Job Description
The purpose of a Control Room Operative is to assist the Control Room with faults on the Warehouse System and undertake Warehouse Operative duties as required.
Key Duties of a Control Room Operative:
- Assisting Control Room with faults on the Warehouse system
- Knowing which cameras relate to which part of the system and operating accordingly
- Effectively using data to control the system, rectifying faults and directing areas to correct area of the system
- Identifying and effectively escalating issues / problems to either the Technicians, Team Leaders or Shift Managers
- Competently communicating using different methods (i.e. phone or radio) in order to instruct other staff of tasks that need to be completed
- Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety rules within the working environment
- Communicating regularly with Team Leader / Shift Manager regarding any issues that may arise within the warehouse
- Adhering to the clean as you go policy with a special focus on the Company’s recycling and waste management program
- Undertaking further Warehouse Operative duties as requested by Supervisor / Manager, eg. assisting the Warehouse Team Leader in the warehouse; picking; marshalling; cleaning; goods-in and pallet checking
Qualifications
- A strong working knowledge of WMS systems
- Able to work effectively under pressure
- Competent in verbal and numerical reasoning
