Position Overview & Specifications

Hope and Homes for Children is looking for a first-class, well-organised, methodical Resources Assistant who will provide support to our Resources team through income processing and Finance office administration.

About the role:

You will report to the Head of Finance and support the Resources Team, including processing donations into our fundraising database from a variety of income sources, and helping handle and bank cash and cheques. You will be joining a collaborative and ambitious organisation who are proud of what we do and the difference we make, and will be provided with the opportunities and guidance to help you to develop and grow.

About you:

The successful candidate will be a flexible team player with good attention to detail, a methodical and thorough approach, with strong organisational skills and initiative. You may not have worked in a Finance role previously, but you will have some experience of working in administration, a flexible approach to work, and a positive 'can-do' attitude as well as strong verbal and written communication and numeracy skills.

About Hope and Homes for Children:

Orphanages don’t protect children, they harm them. Put simply: the last thing an orphanage can provide is the first thing a child needs - someone to love them. Science shows what we all know, that the bond between a child and their family is vital for their development. Decades of evidence proves that orphanages harm children, subjecting them to high levels of sexual and physical abuse, as well as extreme neglect. Children always belong in families. They need protection, encouragement, play, laughter and love. They need somewhere to call home and someone to love them. You can help us make this a reality for children.

Location:
HHC’s main office in Salisbury, wherever located (currently at East Clyffe, Salisbury, SP3 4LZ), with flexibility and home working options for part of the week.

Contract Type:
Permanent

Hours:
20 hours per week, with flexibility, as we have generous flexible and home working practises.

Salary:
£21,000 to £22,500 per annum.

Closing Date:
The final cut off for applications is 20th March 2023 so please get in touch if you have the right skills, experience and passion for our cause.

To apply, please upload your CV and a brief cover letter (500 words max) which briefly summarises your skills and experience to date, how you meet the person specification and why you’d like this role. Please note, only applications with a cover letter will be considered.

Other information:
This post requires the post holder to have the right to work in the UK and may be subject to a DBS check.

HHC actively encourages equality and diversity, and we look to recruit across age, gender, ethnicity and background as we believe diversity brings us closer to our mission of eliminating orphanages.
