Jisc is the UK higher, further education and skills sectors’ not-for-profit organisation for digital services and solutions. We believe education and research improves lives, and technology improves education and research.
Our vision is for the UK to be a world leader in technology for education and research and our mission is to power and empower our members with the technology and data they need to succeed. We know that digital technology has the ability to transform the student experience. We have the experience, expertise and know-how to drive that transformation.

About the team and role:

This role will give you a great opportunity to earn while you learn with a salary and company benefits. Your practical work experience will involve your input into real life financial, business and commercial matters within Jisc helping you to build your knowledge and skills in accountancy and finance to enhance your career prospects.
As you progress through the training programme you’ll experience different parts of our business, giving you great, well-rounded experience of finance and governance. Your levels of responsibility will increase in depth and scope as you progress through the programme.

The Training

As a Finance trainee you will complete the Level 7 Accountancy Professional Apprenticeship. This involves completing ACA qualification with additional apprenticeship requirements
The ACA qualification has four core elements that you will need to successfully complete in order to become a Chartered Accountant:
Practical work experience
Exams in accountancy, finance & business
Ethics & professional scepticism
Professional development

We will support you along the way to assist you with reaching your goals. You’ll have support from your managers and mentors as well as being part of a community of apprentices.
Please refer to the job description for full details.

What we are looking for

The most established route to qualifying as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in the UK is to study the ACA qualification after completing an undergraduate degree. You don’t have to study accountancy, business or finance at university to start the ACA, as ACA training agreements are interested in graduates from a range of backgrounds.

Don’t meet every single requirement
We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they think they can’t tick every box but we realise the ‘perfect candidate’ doesn’t exist. So, if you can do most of what we’re looking for, go ahead and apply. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles!
