An exciting new role has arisen within the Catering Department of the multi-award winning Facilities team at Manchester Metropolitan University.
We are looking for ambitious individual to support our journey to become the best Catering department in the sector and support the University's ambitions of becoming the best modern University in the UK.
About You
The Catering Operations Manager will be an enthusiastic, confident and capable individual with proven experience in motivating, leading and developing agile, cohesive teams to deliver consistently high quality, customer focused services within the University environment.
You will have experience of managing complex Retail Catering/ hospitality, conference & events organisations or high street operations, preferably with multi-unit / site experience, with a sound track record of recognising and implementing successful business development opportunities. The ideal candidate will have previous operations experience and have taken responsibility for the P&L. You will have some knowledge of catering operations and have managed a team of over 50 employees.
Alongside this, the candidate will have excellent sales and marketing skills and experience of implementing a strategic plan and measurable KPI's within a service led organisation, ensuring timely delivery of targets and the management of organisational change. They will also have an in depth understanding of operational policies, procedures and good management practices, which deliver compliance with all statutory obligations.
We are looking for someone that can think outside of the box to improve and maintain high standards of customer service and drive footfall. You will be self motivated, committed and enthusiastic and used to working with a diverse team. You will be driven to succeed, an excellent communicator and strong leader.
About the department
Responsible for delivering Food & Beverage services across the Manchester Campus, the current in-house team provide both retail catering and hospitality services across a range of outlets and locations.
The service supports the core business of the University and aims to enhance the staff and student experience whilst delivering an annual contribution for reinvestment.
