About the project:
The Beckton Depot Upgrade project is an Β£88m, two year multi-disciplinary project to expand the existing Docklands Light Railway Depot at Beckton to accommodate their expansion of rolling stock. The project involves the construction of a new Maintenance Facility Building where the new trains will be brought into use, several stabling facilities and a Temporary Fit Out Shed to accommodate the first trains that arrive.
The works will involve ground remediation as it is located on a former gasworks, heavy civils, buildings, rail systems and mechanical and electrical works.
What will you
be doing?
Working in the construction industry is an exciting career path for Civil Engineering apprentices where Finance, Commercial, Operations, Engineering and Design Teams work together side by side towards the ultimate objective, which is the successful delivery of the project.
The Quality team are a key function in ensuring we deliver products and services on time, to budget and to the required standards. You will have the opportunity to be actively involved within the Quality team and to inspire continuous improvement across the business. You can expect to gain knowledge and experience of:
Setting out of civil engineering and building works
Construction of works as per drawings, ensuring quality control requirements are met and recorded electronically
Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
Resolve any unexpected difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
Learn and understand correct documentation control
processes and procedures
What qualifications
do I require?
Five GCSEβs grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Mathβs, English and a Science or Level 3 Apprenticeship. Minimum 6 grade in Maths preferred
Ability to travel to remote locations.
Ideally some exposure to a construction/ engineering environment.
