Position Overview & Specifications
The post involves providing evidence-based guided self-help in primary care, for people presenting with common mental health problems, using a range of resources, such as self-help materials, cCBT or apps. Following referral from a health professional or 3rd sector worker, or self-referral, we aim to see people as early as possible, providing early intervention or signposting to other community based resources or agencies that are likely to help their recovery. The post is an important link between these community organisations, Psychology, general practice and the wider Health & Social Care Partnership.
You will participate in ongoing audit and evaluation of the service. You will work with qualified clinicians to support the delivery of group psychoeducational interventions, for which some evening working will be required. You will receive regular supervision.
This is an opportunity to join a large area-wide Psychology Service that includes all the major clinical specialties. The Service is friendly, research-active and maintains a vigorous CPD programme. It has well-established links with the Universities of Edinburgh, Stirling and Dundee and provides placements for DClinPsyc trainees and trainees doing a range of clinically-based Masters programmes.
