OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Cocktail Servers are experts of the beverage world, exhibiting warm hospitality and moving in service with purpose and efficiency. Their working knowledge of our wines, spirits, cocktails and hot beverage programmes is impressive. They also have a substantial foundational knowledge of classic cocktails and major grape varieties and wine producing regions.

They have a deep and detailed knowledge of all our food menus. Cocktail Servers are responsible for maintaining the same level of food knowledge as the Servers, knowing all ingredients, preparations, allergens and possible modifications for all dishes produced in the kitchen.

The Cocktail Server is expected to:

• Deliver expert service of our food and beverages in all outlets
• Be professional at all times
• Exhibit qualities of flexibility and warm hospitality as well as be an effective communicator
• Represent the NoMad positivity to all internal and external stakeholders as well as act as an ambassador of our brand when out in our industry’s community
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times, including but not exclusive of, H&S policies, HR policies

Main Duties & Responsibilities

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE

Cocktail Servers are responsible for greeting and communicating warmly with all guests in the space. They deliver beverage and food menus, process orders into Micros and maintain a high standard of service throughout a guest’s visit. They know all well spirits and spirit brands featured in our bars. They can speak to the structure of our cocktail menus, ingredients, methods and presentations of all drinks served.

They know all our wines by the glass on offer and can discuss major wine regions, climates, terroir and styles of wine, making confident recommendations. They are well-versed in wine service protocols and glass pouring levels. They have an elevated knowledge of beer and cider styles around the world in addition to our beers on offer.

MISE EN PLACE

Cocktail Servers set up the floor for service, ensure waiter stations are well stocked and all tools needed to execute service are available. They are responsible for maintaining glassware and assisting in any reasonable tasks as directed by the business needs.

SERVICE

Cocktail Servers must be able to explain and discuss all food dishes and beverage options available as well as have a full understanding of traffic patterns, position numbers, section plans and the team on site. Working alongside Barbacks, Bartenders, Maitre D's, Hosts, Assistant Servers and Bar Managers, Cocktail Servers deliver an informed and expert service to all guests, championing our bar programmes in particular.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Exude a passion for hospitality and education
• Experience with elevated service standards
• Working knowledge of food and beverage, including but not limited to our menus on site
• Working knowledge of classic cocktails and basic spirits and wine varietals
• Knowledge of our restaurant POS systems
• Experience working within a team
• Personable with a good attitude
• Able to communicate effectively in English
• Able to work long hours and handle a high-volume environment
