Position Overview & Specifications
Ocean Housing are recruiting for a part time (16 hours per week) Grounds Maintenance Operative to work as part of their team to provide grounds maintenance services, responsibilities include to:
Provide Grounds Maintenance services and horticultural duties as required across Ocean’s stock including grass cutting, strimming, weeding, maintaining and planting shrubs, trees, plants and other grounds maintenance and gardening tasks
Assess site conditions and make decisions on most appropriate work to be undertaken and equipment to be used in accordance with weather conditions and best practice
Conduct estate checks when on site, identifying and reporting any issues that may pose a health and safety risk to the public
Be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and daily/routine checks of any plant or machinery provided
Qualifications and Experience
Educated to NVQ Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5)) or equivalent and Level 1 qualification (eg GCSE D-E or CSE level 2-5 in English/Literacy) or equivalent
Valid Driving Licence
Grounds Maintenance experience and ability to carry out a wide range of horticultural tasks
A good understanding of health and safety issues and risks in relation to grounds maintenance
