Position Overview & Specifications

Band 3 - Emergency Assessment Unit Care Support Worker

We are seeking to employ enthusiastic and dynamic Care Support Workers to join our team in the Emergency Assessment Unit (EAU) at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

We are expecting that the successful applicants will be proactive in the provision of high standard of care to patients in congruent with the trust’s core values.

The team in EAU care for those who are acutely unwell, support end of life care and care for a range of mental health patients working as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams including the Emergency Department and the Emergency Department Psychiatric Service (EDPS).

We can offer a supportive environment with a strong commitment to professional development. We can offer full or part time hours, working weekdays and weekends.

As a member of the team in this enhanced role you will:
  • Support and work closely with registered practitioners to deliver a high standard of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment without the need for direct supervision.
  • Work as part of the wider team in developing and maintaining
services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area or department. This will be undertaken whilst maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and respect their right to confidentiality.
  • Complete and maintain on an ongoing basis a generic and specific portfolio of clinical competencies and/or Care Certificate as required.
  • Be motivated in order to review progress with Manager at regular intervals.
