Position Overview & Specifications
JOB PURPOSE
Key member of small finance team, working closely with the Management Accountant & Head of Finance to maintain accurate financial records for management & statutory information that provide decision supportive information to management.
ACCOUNTABILITY
The post reports to the Management Accountant.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales ledger:
· Working with the business development team ensuring invoices are correctly recorded within the customer relationship management system
· Raising customer credits & refunds
· Allocating payments
· Answering member invoice queries & providing copy invoices
· Monthly reconciliation of the customer relationship management system to the finance system
· Ensuring invoices are paid on time
Purchase Ledger:
· Purchase invoice checking and liaising with supplier if there are issues
· Distribute invoices received for authorisation by budget holders
· Entering invoices onto the finance system
· Entering staff expenses onto the finance system end ensuring adherence to policy
· Sending monthly company credit card statements to staff for expenses completion
· Collating expenses & credit card expenses onto a spread sheet for upload and final manager approval and payment
Other
· Weekly bank reconciliations
· Working with the events team to ensure that the cost tracker is maintained and updated
· Assist in month end processes including preparing journals
· Other admin/ad hoc tasks to assist the finance team as and when required
· Scope to learn and develop within finance function
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Good knowledge of basic accounting procedures with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
Use of finance and CRM systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics Navision and Salesforce
