Where every day is a chance to make a difference Practice Plus Group were recently awarded the healthcare contract at HMP Belmarsh and will begin delivering services in May 2023. We are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care. You will be providing outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will contribute to and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, well-being and clinics as well as assisting patients with activities of daily living and personal care. Throughout this position, you will deliver non-judgemental care involving anything from health promotion clinics and observations to supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks. You’ll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice Competency Framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.About You
You will be a qualified Nursing Associate who can demonstrate entry to the NMC register with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever-changing as some of your responsibilities will include completing wing medication rounds, primary care clinics and emergency response.
You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service.

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £31,500 per annum - dependent on experience. We offer a whole host of additional benefits such as: cycle to work scheme, free uniform, an extensive training and development structure for all employees along with an employee recognition scheme.

About Us
HMP Belmarsh is a Category A men’s prison with an operational capacity of over 910 inmates and is located in South East London. The site houses a High Security Unit (HSU) and is regarded as the most secure prison unit in the United Kingdom. HMP Belmarsh became operational in April 1991 and is adjacent to and adjoin to Woolwich Crown Court. Practice Plus Group is a specialist provider of NHS services into prison healthcare across over 45 different prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. The prison population is one of the most vulnerable and challenged patient groups in society and the delivery of their health care is conducted within often difficult and demanding environments.
