JOB OPENING FOR A LEGAL ASSISTANT
San Rafael law firm is looking for an organized, hard-working and motivated team player to fill a legal assistant position starting in June. 3-4 years experience in civil litigation work is preferred. Must be proficient in civil litigation calendaring (by hand and with software), court and electronic filings, and service of all pleadings/discovery and other related documents, as well as electronic file and document management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is expected to provide timely and effective secretarial services. The person holding this position will be assigned to 3-4 partners of a busy law firm, and given significant responsibility with word processing, some direct client communication, calendaring, and litigation support. This position will work collaboratively with other staff to further the work of the group and will communicate directly with their supervisors regarding workflow and prioritization.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
* Significant experience with litigation calendaring and court filings
* Ability to generate automated TOC and TOA
* Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, prioritize duties, work under pressure with minimum supervision
* Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters
*Experience with discovery
* Professional and friendly demeanor with clients and co-workers
* Detail oriented is a must
FULL TIME - MONDAY thru FRIDAY, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Position is in-office in San Rafael, CA. Competitive salary and benefits.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour
