The Department

The Art and Design department is a vibrant and creative hub in the heart of the School. The philosophy of the department is of an integrated department with all the staff working as a team, sharing in the planning and decision making at all levels of departmental work. This includes exhibitions and open days, moderation of examination work and organisation of trips and co-curricular workshops.

At one end of the open plan workshop is a metal work area including a forge and jewellery bays, at the other is a range of machinery and tools including a laser cutter and small 3D printer. Space as always is of a premium therefore it is essential the space is well maintained.
