Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking to recruit highly motivated registered nurses with an interest in Oncology/Haematology. Our services deliver a range of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy treatments for a variety of Oncology and Haematological conditions.
We have introduced a new recruitment package for trained nurses. The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust wants to invest in you, we are offering a package to include a Chemotherapy course within year 1, which will enable you to complete the SACT (systemic anti-cancer therapy) passport and become an experienced SACT practitioner and complement our existing teams within the Oncology/Haematology Services.
Previous Oncology/Haematology experience is desirable, but not essential.
Commit to us for 3 years and in return we will offer on-going professional development opportunities, including Post Grad cert at level 6 or 7 and being supported by a dedicated Professional Education Nurse for Haematology & Oncology, along with support from Specialist Nurses and an established Acute Oncology Team.
You MUST have current NMC registration.

Our patients and their families are dealing with challenging and difficult treatments which require our team to be highly sensitive, adaptable and expert. Working alongside other members of the direct and indirect allied health professional teams the successful candidate will show an ability to support patients, families, team members and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

To provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group.

To deliver compassionate person-centred care, and treat patients, service users, their families and their carers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.

To provide relevant forms of care with minimal supervision and participate in the supervision and teaching and assessment of unregistered or junior staff and students.

To play an active part in the continuing development of the ward or department and contribute to the maintenance of an environment conducive to the delivery of high standards of patient care, by promoting good communication and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.
