Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in Permanent Way Engineering and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. There’s more to it than Tubes, roads, buildings and bridges. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.

Working in the Track Maintenance Engineering team, you will be involved with a wide range of P.Way disciplines, including track quality, wheel rail interface, rail defect management, noise & vibration, mechanised maintenance and technical support. Day-to-day, your main focus will be on technical testing, instrument management, data analysis and reporting, computer programming and developing technical solutions for Track issues. You will work alongside experienced Track Engineers and Data Scientists, contributing to improving the management of Track data and using that to improve the maintenance of track across the TfL estate, particularly on London Underground.

You will have grounding or experience in the fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering (with an emphasis on Data Analysis and Programming), and its practical application to industry. Successful applicants will have their knowledge and experience enhanced within the discipline of Track Engineering whilst contributing to the continued safe and reliable operation of the railway.
